I am a Veteran

Going back to school as a Veteran is not an easy task, but it will have a huge positive impact on your future career. As a veteran, there are many benefits and programs available to support you throughout your entire educational journey. The application for all potential Veteran-student benefits can be found on the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs website.

Post- 9/11 GI Bill

This program is available to veterans who have had at least 90 days of active service since 9/11/2001, and are still on active duty, or if you were honorably discharged or discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. There are many benefits with this program, as the programs provides up to 3 years of educational benefits. Selecting a College 

The Selecting a College page will guide you to choosing the right college for you. For Veterans, you can also use the U.S. Government’s helpful GI Bill Comparison tool to see which colleges accept the GI Bill benefits that are available to you. You can chose if you are a veteran, spouse, or child of a veteran, compare colleges, and choose a college based on what percentage of your tuition is covered by these benefits.

National Testing Program

Veterans are also approved for reimbursement for all required national assessment fees. These tests include the SAT, ACT, TOEFL, etc. For a complete list of the approved tests and application go to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affair website. College Credit for Veterans 

Many colleges will give veterans course credit for their military experiences. Colleges provide these credits through participating with the American Council on Defense (ACE). ACE works with the Department of Defense to review your military training and experience and determine how much and which type of course credit is appropriate.
